About the Training

Fitness Australia and Baker IDI invite you to attend a two day training workshop to become an accredited Lift for Life® provider. The training is delivered by an accredited Exercise Physiologist. The program is being delivered as a component of the National Partnership Agreement on Preventative Health and is giving the fitness industry an exciting opportunity to get involved in this initiative that promotes a healthier, more active community. This training workshop is a registered Continuing Education course with Fitness Australia (15 CECs), Kinect Australia (3 PDPs) and Exercise Sports Science Australia (15 CECs).

 

Training Details:

  • The training is run over two consecutive days, from 9am - 4pm on both days.
  • Prior to the training, participants are asked to watch a DVD and answer some accompanying questions that need to be handed in at the training workshop.
  • Following the training, participants have one month to complete a short assessment based on the information presented.

 

 Training is comprised of ten learning modules:

  • The Lift for Life® Market
  • Common Chronic Conditions
  • Diabetes Explained
  • Current Resistance Training Research
  • Strength Training Guidelines
  • The Lift for Life Program
  • Exercise Pre-Screening, Assessment & Prescription
  • Safety Considerations
  • Introduction to Motivational Interviewing

 

Who is eligable to attend the training?

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer), AND have a minumim of two years work experience as a registered exercise professional

OR be an accredited  

  • Exercise Physiologists
  • Physiotherapists, or  
  • Osteopath.
