Subsidised Training

Through the National Partnership Agreement on Preventative Health the Australian Government is providing funding to support Local Government Areas (LGAs) in delivering effective community-based physical activity and healthy eating programs. Under this funding Fitness Australia is able to offer fully subsidised training places worth $660 to selected training registrants. In order to be considered for a training subsidy exercise professionals need to submit an application. A maximum of 10 subsidised training places will be available at each training workshop.

Who is eligible for a training subsidy?

  • Only exercise professionals who will be delivering Lift for Life® in one of the COAG Healthy Communities Initiative LGAs are eligible for the training subsidy. These LGAs are listed at the bottom of the page.
  • The Healthy Communities Initiative targets adults not in the paid workforce, as such applications that demonstrate an intention to deliver Lift for Life® to this target group will be considered favourably.

What is expected of successful training subsidy recipients?

  • Commitment to sign a two year licence agreement and to run 2 Lift for Life® programs over a 12 month period
  • Data collection and upload of this data to an online web portal at the end of each phase of the program
  • Dissemination, collection, and return to Fitness Australia of Participant Satisfaction Surveys at the end of the Bronze and Gold Phases of the program

How to apply for a subsidised training position

  • Complete the Lift for Life® Training Subsidy Application
  • Email your application to Samantha Raheb at Samantha.raheb@fitness.org.au
  • Ensure your application is submitted no later than three weeks prior to the first day of the Lift for Life® Accreditation Training workshop you wish to attend
