IDI merges with the Baker

The merger between the International Diabetes Institute and the Baker Heart Research Institute marks the establishment of Australia’s first national heart and diabetes institute, and one of the largest research and clinical organisations devoted to diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the world.

The combined strengths of each institute takes us into an exciting new era, together we will provide preventative strategies, informed by research, to ensure that the current disease burden from obesity, diabetes and their devastating cardiovascular complications is stemmed.
